Full Professor in Applied microeconomics

Jean Monnet University in Saint-Étienne (France) is recruiting a full professor in a tenured position. The teaching position is at the Saint-Étienne School of Economics and research will be take place within the GATE Lyon Saint-Étienne, a joint research unit involving Jean Monnet University, Lyon 2 University, the ENS de Lyon and the CNRS.

The successful applicant will contribute towards teaching and supervision at all levels, especially in the area of applied microeconomics. The teaching may be fully in English. In addition to their teaching duties, the successful applicant will participate in the development of the School of Economics. In particular, they are expected to develop international teaching partnerships and to undertake program supervision at the master level.

A research program which creates potential collaborations in the following fields will be particularly appreciated, although these suggestions are non-binding: economics of innovation, regional and urban economics, environmental economics, development economics, public economics and international economics. Applicants should demonstrate a strong scientific profile documented by publications in highly ranked international journals and a successful record of attracting external research funding, research supervision and leadership experience.

A “start-up package” can be negotiated, which will potentially include:
– a starting fund of €60k
– a 1/3 teaching load waiver for four years
– a PhD scholarship to recruit a PhD student
