2-year postdoctoral researcher position in Agricultural or Environmental Economics

The French convergence institute CLAND, and its partners Paris-Saclay Applied Economics (PSAE), are looking for a motivated candidate for a two-year postdoc position on an exciting research project “The role of land market in the adaptation of agriculture to climate change”.

Unit and research:
Paris-Saclay Applied Economics is the economic research unit of the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment (INRAE) in Paris-Saclay. INRAE is a public research establishment hiring more than 12,000 people in about 200 research units located throughout France. Position:
– You will study how the land market functioning in France and Europe affects the adaptation of agriculture to climate change.
– You will participate in national and international conferences.
– You will work at the Paris-Saclay Applied Economics research unit in close collaboration with the CLAND community of the University Paris-Saclay.
– You will publish scientific articles related to the research project.

Profile:
– You have a strong command of data management and conducting independent applied econometric analyses. Command of R programming and GIS is a plus.
– You are familiar with recent economic research on climate change, land market or land use changes. Specifically, knowledge of the impacts of climate change on agriculture and related adaptation strategies is a plus.
– You hold a PhD in Economics (or you will have obtained it by the time you start work).
– You are willing to take the initiative and the ambition to pursue a scientific career.
– You present a documented experience in scientific writing and publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
– You have good English communication skills. Knowledge of French language is facultative.

What we offer:
– We offer a full-time contract as a postdoctoral research for a period of 2 years.
– The planned start date is October 1, 2022 or as soon as possible after that date.
– The salary is based on French standards and takes into account previous experiences.
– You will have up to 45 days of annual leave and you can benefit up to 144 days of remote working per year.
– You will receive a bicycle allowance or a half reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
– You will be based at the new Paris-Saclay Campus (Palaiseau, 40 minutes by public transports from downtown Paris) in a dynamic and stimulating working environment with lots of facilities (collective catering, sport facilities, etc.).
