PhD in economics on the topic « Geopolitical effects of critical raw materials »
The PhD research will focus on the geopolitical effects of the critical material uses through supply chain and the builiding of social capital. Indeed, the local versus international extraction has a certain value as it improves autonomy and reduces the vulnerability of supply chains. However, it requires rising social capital at a local level to secure cooperation and improve acceptance and increase R&D.
The candidate should show expertise in both theoretical modeling and empirical work. Supervision will be ensured be Pr. Aude Pommeret (USMB) with some guidance of Lin Zhang (City University of Hong Kong).
This PhD is funded by the Solar Academy (USMB) and TAEF (technical and economic foresight) project. TAEF (see file attached) is part of “PEPR subsoil” of the French ANR (interdisciplinary 75M€), that will give the PhD student the opportunity to interact with a large team of researchers from different disciplines.
