FAERE has learned with deep sadness of the passing of Gilles Rotillon, which occurred this past weekend.

An emeritus professor at Université Paris Nanterre and a renowned expert in environmental and natural resource economics, Gilles made a lasting impact on our field through his work on climate change and sustainable development.

Beyond his scientific contributions, Gilles was a wonderful person, a dear friend of FAERE, and a dedicated teacher who inspired and educated generations of students in environmental economics and far beyond.

Our thoughts are with his family, his loved ones, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the publication of the December 2024 special issue of the Annals of Economics and Statistics, produced in collaboration with Laurent Linnemer for the FAERE 2023 annual conference.

We invite you to read the introduction “FAERE in its teens”, attached here, where we celebrate the association, and the eight articles, all freely accessible via this link: https://www.jstor.org/stable/e48518135

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Claude Henry on April 17, 2025. An exceptional economist and a passionate advocate for interdisciplinary thinking, he was particularly renowned for his work on climate policy and sustainable development. FAERE was proud to recognize him as one of its very first honorary members upon its founding in 2013 (https://faere.fr/nos-membres/membres-d-honneur/).
