Posdoctoral researcher position in agricultural economics, environmental economics and industrial organization
The Department of Economics of Université Paris-Dauphine – PSL is hiring for a full-time Postdoctoral researcher in environmental economics, agricultural economics, and applied industrial organization. This position is funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) through the project AdaptAgriChain – Adapting Farmers to Climate Change within Concentrated and Structured Supply Chains.
Start date: Between March and September 2026 (flexible)
Location: Paris, France (hybrid work arrangement possible, with regular in-person presence expected)
Duration: 3 years (36 months)
Gross monthly salary: €3,100–€3,400 depending on experience (€37,200–€40,800 annually)

Description of the position
The postdoc will contribute to the research of the AdaptAgriChain project, which examines how climate change adaptation in agriculture is shaped by supply-chain structure, market concentration, and the strategic behavior of downstream intermediaries.
The position will involve the construction, management, and analysis of large French administrative datasets (farm-level & firm-level). The postdoc will co-author research articles aimed at top field and general-interest journals, participate in project dissemination (workshops, seminars and conferences), and benefit from networking opportunities within a leading research environment. The postdoctoral researcher will work in close collaboration with the PI (Loïc Henry) and research partners at INRAE and Climate Economics Chair.
Profile of the candidate
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in economics completed by the start date. The candidates must have a demonstrated interest in at least one of the following areas: environmental economics, agricultural economics, or industrial organization. The applicants must have strong skills in applied econometrics and/or quantitative modeling. Experience with programming tools used in empirical IO (e.g., Julia, Python, R) or spatial/structural models are an asset, as well as experience with administrative farm-level and firm-level data. Familiarity with the economics of climate change adaptation is also an asset.
