The 2024 FAERE Doctoral Workshop took place in Annecy on March 14–15, in partnership with the Solar Academy and IREGE. Organized by Dorothée Charlier and Karine Constant, the event brought together around a dozen PhD students in environmental, resource, and energy economics, who presented their research papers, project drafts, or dissertation chapters at various stages of development.
Each 25-minute presentation was followed by a discussion led by a junior researcher and then a senior academic, fostering lively and constructive exchanges in a supportive academic atmosphere. Topics ranged from the effects of temperature shocks and recycled plastics dynamics to the health impacts of protected areas and the relationship between economic growth and biodiversity.
The workshop successfully strengthened connections among early-career researchers, provided a space to test new ideas, and allowed for the collective exploration of ongoing research challenges.
