DECISION SUPPORT ENGINEER / ECONOMIST F/H

MISSION
Ineris (Institut national pour l’environnement industriel et les risques) is a national reference organization, under the supervision of the Ministry of the Environment, whose main mission is to carry out studies and research to prevent the risks that economic activities pose to the safety of people and property. The Institute has around 500 employees and is based in Verneuil-en-Halatte, in the Oise region of France.
Within the Strategy, Scientific Policy and Communication (SCI) department, the Environmental Economics and Decision Support (EDEN) unit, currently comprising 6 people, carries out research, expert appraisal and consultancy work in the field of economic analysis and decision-making support for the management of health and environmental risks and environmental pollution caused by economic activities, particularly industrial activities.
Within this unit, you will :
– Carry out decision-making analyses for national and European commercial projects and studies on the assessment of the energy transition (hydrogen, photovoltaics, offshore wind turbines, etc.) and the industrial circular economy, in a context of multiple risks and uncertainties;
– Carry out projects involving the characterization of pollution pressure on the environment (atmospheric and aquatic pollution, etc.) and the development and assessment of reduction strategies;
– Implement decision-support methodologies, including the development of indicators, multi-criteria approaches, cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness methods, and econometric analyses;
– Contribute to the development of the unit’s activities, particularly sales, and to networking in these fields at national and international level, by prospecting, contributing to the preparation of responses to calls for tender, seeking partners, etc.
PROFILE
With a 5-year higher education qualification (engineer and/or environmental economist), you have a keen interest and at least 3 years’ experience in the field of industrial risks and technological innovations, or in the management of environmental pollution. You will also be familiar with or familiar with some of the decision-making tools used by the unit (foresight, multi-criteria analysis and indicators, environmental economics).
In addition, you have the following skills:
– Customer relations skills;
– Autonomy and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team;
– Good interpersonal and writing skills;
– Good written and spoken English.
